Il Ginkgo biloba \u00e8 un albero antichissimo le cui origini risalgono circa a 250 milioni di anni fa, nel Permiano, ed \u00e8 per questo considerato un fossile vivente.<\/p>\n

\u00c8 una specie relitta originaria oggi della Cina orientale, unica specie ancora sopravvissuta della famiglia delle Ginkgoaceae. Il suo nome ha origine dalla struttura della foglie a ventaglio bilobato, ovvero divise in due lobi.<\/p>\n
